Illustrative lettering poster with the quote “The Eternal Silence, without any rage or grudge…” – SCD Balaji, featuring a calm warrior seated in meditation against a dramatic red-and-black backdrop. With one finger placed over his lips in a gesture of silence, he holds a glowing white lotus while bearing visible scars and wounds. White doves surround him, symbolizing peace and transcendence, as the composition contrasts inner serenity with the aftermath of conflict, portraying silence as the highest form of response.
The Eternal Silence, without any rage or grudge, is the most Graceful Raga of Revenge.
I am not the first to say this. Mystics have spoken of it for ages.
Yet people still receive it as an impossible virtue.
Knowingly or unknowingly, if someone wounds you and you wound back, you have already become the same creature. It does not end. It becomes your nature. Once it is your nature, it does not stop with one person. It walks with you into every room.
So what do you do when someone takes your love, compassion and care for granted?
Be away from them. In every sense. Forgive them in silence, never in person. Cut contact, without rage or grudge. Do not be available for them, ever again. Not even for sorry.
Especially not for sorry, because the apology settles the account and forgives the debt. That lets them carry the same act to others or even to you again.
They mistook your goodness for a debt they could keep borrowing against.
Close the account.
No anger. No farewell. No door left open for an apology.
Not blood for blood. Only silence.
Silence is not absence. It is a raga. One without notes. One they cannot un-hear.
There is no mightier weapon than the silence of your goodness. It teaches a soul its mistakes and helps it evolve.
