Goodness is free, eternal and infinite. It costs no money, no time, no energy. Just a drop of intention. And yet, it is the one thing most of us find hardest to give in every moment, to everybody.
But we often judge people who couldn't offer goodness to us whenever we needed it.
What if they simply couldn't afford it in that moment?
Every person you have ever called bad would have been good to you most of the time. Maybe they just ran out of patience, capacity or space inside them to hold you beyond a point. Perhaps goodness is a limited resource for those who quantify goodness with money, time, energy, etc.
That is not evil. That is human. But if you want to go beyond...
Be as good as you can. It costs you nothing. And when someone cannot show up with the goodness you hoped for, pause before you judge. They are not bad. They just couldn't afford it in that moment with you.
Just like you couldn't on some days, either.
Because goodness is a luxury not everyone can afford.
