Exclusivity is the one privilege we all quietly chase.
It is how we measure our worth.
How exclusively are we treated by our loved ones,
our family, our team, our workplace?
The list goes on.
If you look a little deeper,
so much of what humans do is a pursuit of this single thing.
Most of our drama, our striving, our performance,
is just a way of asking to be treated as exclusive.
And I see nothing wrong with yearning for it.
The problem is only how we try to earn it.
A boss forces it, and calls it respect.
A spouse possesses it, and calls it love.
A politician buys it, and calls it loyalty.
A guru demands it, and calls it devotion.
A friend clings to it, and calls it closeness.
This is why such exclusivity is always short-lived
It was taken, not given, so it never lasts.
But there is an another way.
When you give warmth and expect nothing back.
When you help without counting the cost.
When you stand up for someone before they even ask.
When you uplift someone without needing the credit.
When you give, even when no one is watching.
When you forgive before an apology arrives.
Something changes.
You begin to feel your own exclusivity from within.
You no longer need anyone's words to confirm your worth.
And that is the difference.
When exclusivity is demanded, it fades.
When it is radiated, it lasts.
