Like creativity, branding, and digital marketing, personal branding is also another cliché of the decade, exploited by the digital pseudo-beings out there.
I’m sharing this perspective as a branding consultant with more than 20 years of experience.
Personal branding is not about what you fake outside or curate for social media. It is not about your logo, reels, posts, carousels or ghostwriting.
It is more about how you internally brand yourself to your mind through your every thought, emotion, word and action. This will be externally branded (displayed explicitly) to others in your presence.
Real personal branding on the internet is you expressing, documenting or sharing your unfiltered and unadulterated emotions, experiences and skills with the world, instead of forcing yourself to social media’s algorithm or trying to impress people, temporarily.
Be authentic, and you will reach the relevant people for your career and life, especially in the age of AI. Over the years, you will build a tribe of people around you who sync with your vibe.
Have you ever thought about personal branding from this mindset? Do you agree with this perspective?
