To be your own whistleblower, you need four qualities. Not as a list, but as a ladder.
Each step is possible only because of the one before it.
First, be honest with yourself. You cannot fix what you refuse to see, and that is the hardest part, because we protect our ego every moment.
That honesty needs humility, or you will just defend your faults instead of accepting them.
That humility needs courage, or you will see the truth but never face it.
And when you live all three, every day, you become the fourth. A person of integrity.
Whoever lives all four falls gracefully into self-love, and rises as their own whistleblower.
But why do we even want to be our own whistleblowers?
We take care of our loved ones instead of leaving them in the care of strangers. Then why not do the same for yourself? Before marriage, before family, before every relationship humans created, the first one that ever existed was you with yourself. Everything else came later.
If you fail to watch, care for and love yourself, and you hand that responsibility to someone else, you will never even know whose opinions you are absorbing, where they come from, why, or with what agenda.
That is why you must become your own mirror, not to blame yourself or drown in guilt, but to see yourself clearly.
Then act on what you see. Sometimes it asks you to stand up for yourself; sometimes to stand down, and say no to yourself.
