Illustrative lettering poster with the quote “SOCIAL MEDIA IS A PRIDE ROCK. If the Lions humbly refuse to Roar, the strays will proudly howl.” – SCD Balaji, portraying a bold metaphor about social media and voice. The artwork shows silent lions resting on a pride rock while wolves, dogs, birds, and other animals howl below, symbolizing noise overtaking authenticity. Bright pop-art colors, expressive hand-lettering, and social media icons emphasize themes of visibility, leadership, confidence, and the cost of staying silent in the digital world.
The Inception:
From the time social media became a marketplace for business, brands and influencers, most of the talented and authentic people chose to stay away from the noise.
Thinking that being away from social media is humbleness and modesty or a kind of passive pride, they focused on the real work.
A Decade Later:
Most of the spammers and undeserving voices took over the internet while the authentic voices became outnumbered, and I see these talented and authentic people cry over and blame social media and the internet for scamming, spamming and faking.
Moral:
In the movie The Lion King, the King Mufasa stands on the Pride Rock to establish his presence and existence. Imagine, if one day the lion decides to not show up, because the forest knows that he is the King. If he doesn’t, then wolves, hyenas and dogs will come and howl on the Pride Rock and take over the throne.
We can't blame them.
We can only blame the lethargy of the humble lions.
Is it time for the "lions" to reclaim their Pride Rock, or should authenticity continue to avoid the noise?
