My Guru shared this quote with me. It changed my life and the lives of many people whom I’ve helped.
Happiness is personal. What makes you happy might not make someone else happy.
Have you ever noticed that even when you have a lot of things, you sometimes feel empty or unhappy? Maybe, you feel like something is missing? Here are some examples:
• A baby finds pure joy in a crumpled piece of paper. Others don’t understand why.
• A designer loves having an Apple computer. But a gamer wouldn’t care about it.
• A new bride treasures a diamond necklace. But a single woman looking for love wouldn’t value it the same way.
The list goes on and on. There’s no rule that says one thing will make everyone happy. That doesn’t exist. Only when you know what you want, you’ll appreciate it… when you get there!
But why is it hard to decide what we want? Why do so many people avoid this question?
Their minds tell them: “What if I don’t get it?”. So they stay vague, blame others, or settle for random moments of happiness. That’s what most of us do.
Are you someone who is clear about what you want and embraces your blessings or lives in accidental joy?
